مقاله اي راجع به تفاوتهاي زنان و مردان در استفاده از كامپيوتر و البته اينترنت  كه به نظرم جالب اومد و خلاصه ي اون رو اينجا آوردم .اين مقاله كه توسط Deborah Tannen نوشته ودر مجلهCyberReader چا پ شده بوده با اين جمله شروع مي شه كه تا حدي وصف حال خيلي از ماست!

در ادامه خودش را با همكارش Ralph مقايسه مي كند كه با وجود اينكه هردو همزمان دستگاه كامپيوتر خريدند و جزو اولين نفرها بودند كه كار با آن رو ياد گرفتند Ralph  در كارش حرفه اي شد و Deborreh همچنان يك كاربر تازه كار ماند.

خريدن تجهيزات جديد و نصب سريع آنها و علاقه به يادگيري بازيها و نرم افزارهاي جديد باعث پيشرفت Ralph شد در حالي كه ترس از تصميم اشتباه راجع به خريدن قطعات جديد و دل نكندن از قبليها يكي از دلايل عقب ماندن Deborreh بود.

همچنين با اشاره به يك ايميل توضيح مي دهد كه چگونه  مردها در  اينترنت راحت تر از مكالمات حضوري مي توانند نظرات و احساسات خود را بيان كنند در حالي كه زنان گفتگوي رو در رو و صحبت كلامي را بيشتر ترجيح مي دهند.

Women want machines that meet people’s needs, the perfect mother. And one that can be turned on and off the flick of a switch.”

 ۳The vast majority of computer game designers are men: they male games they want to play .why do you think it’s called Game Boy?

Girls tend to prefer nonlinear games, where there is more than one way to win. Some even dislike having characters die on screen.
